Halo Engagement Rings Are Simply Fabulous

According to the latest study released by Martha Stewart Weddings, today’s average bride is 27 years old and 99% of them expect to receive a halo engagement rings to celebrate the engagement. 57% of brides are involved in selecting the ring. And although most people think that a one carat diamond is the typical center stone, in reality the typical bride receives an engagement ring with a 3/4 carat or smaller center stone.

For the couple who desires a larger look but with limited funds, a halo engagement ring settings is sthe perfect option. The “halo” is a circle of micro-pave diamonds that surround the center stone, visually expanding the bling of a stone by as much as a 1/2 carat. (I have a lovely Ritani engagement ring with a 3/4 carat cushion cut center diamond, but the halo of micro-pave round diamonds that surround it lead people to believe it is a one carat.)

Heidi Klum’s canary yellow oval-shaped diamond from her ultra-romantic singer/husband, Seal. Jennifer Garner’s vintage cushion-cut diamond engagement ring from fellow actor Ben Affleck. Former first daughter Jenna Bush who said “I do” to a three stone ring with a round diamond in the center and two sapphires on each side. Beyonce’s ring from mogul Jay-Z: a massive emerald-shape diamond set in a split-shank of platinum. Even celebrities with unlimited budgets and sometimes outlandish fashion choices go for the traditional when it comes to their engagement rings. After all, they’re making a commitment for a lifetime and just like the rest of us, they want to select and wear a halo setting engagement ring they’ll love and cherish forever.
